Anyone who is 18+ and has received their high school diploma or its equivalent and is legally eligible to work in NY.
College Graduates and former Military personnel looking for a career are also encouraged to apply.
For those who have documented challenges such as ADHD, Autism, PTSD, or other “neruospicy” diagnoses, additional pre-program training funding may be available.
You must be eligible to work in NYS and 18 years old by the time you begin the program.

The program can be a 36-48 month commitment. You will train with a Master Technician for about 30 hours per week and attend additional in-class training, completing a total of 40 hours per week. This program is state-certified, and once completed, you will receive a Journeyman’s Certification.
You will train in the following areas:
* Shop Routine – 500 Hours
* Break System – 500 Hours
* Chassis, Steering, and Suspension Systems – 550 Hours
* Electrical and Electronic Systems – 1500 Hours
* Heating and Air Conditioning – 500 Hours
* Engine Serice, Diagnosis, and Major Repair – 2,050 Hours
* Transmissions, Clutches, Drive Lines, Axles – 1,400 Hours
* Miscellaneous – 1,000 Hours
We encourage our shops to pay minimum wage + based on previous experience. They will negotiate your wage with you directly. Your wage will be determined between you and your employer during your time with them. Following your program, the average income statewide is $82,126 annually.
When you complete the program, you will be a certified Journeyman. While issued by the State, the certificate is accepted nationwide. If you want to explore the country, you can, but likely the shop you trained with will ask you to stay on with them full time. The choice is yours: stay, find another shop, or travel the country. You will be able to do this after earning about $33,000.000/ year and coming out with zero educational debt. You will have the knowledge and the experience to make a real difference in your community while joining an industry that keeps the whole country moving.

Auto Repair and Body Shops with Master Technicians may participate.
You must be able to hire and train a technician to NYS Journeyman standards. You must pay the technician your local minimum wage and have an adequate car count to expose the apprentice to a wide variety of service experiences.
The program can be a 36-48 month commitment. You will train with a Master Technician for about 30 hours per week and attend additional in-class training, completing a total of 40 hours per week. This program is state-certified, and once completed, you will receive a Journeyman’s Certification.
You will train in the following areas:

There is an additional fee that is to be paid to MACNY. This fee will go towards the administration of the program for the duration of the individual’s apprentice experience. The MACNY fee can be as much as $20k for five active participants per shop.
You are encouraged to hire your apprentice or refer them to another state shop to help rebuild the labor force in New York. The automotive industry has been slowly declining as schools are no longer promoting any trade over the college path. We know that this industry offers those who are a part of it a vital and fulfilling career.

How Much is Membership?
Membership dues are $360 and are paid annually in November.
Do you Pro-Rate?
Yes, your full dues are due at the time of application, and any pro-rated monies will be applied to your membership account the following year. If you would like, you can also apply any credits to training courses instead of reducing your second year’s dues.
How Much Dividend Will I Receive?
The average annual return is 35%, and checks are sent to insurance holders by May of every year.
